I started my career as a trained horticulturalist and progressed into garden centre management also working at the Royal Horticultural Society. After 10 years as a self employed gardener I was lucky enough to find a local Ashtanga yoga class which helped me heal repeated back twinges from all the digging and weeding. After developing a sound self-practice I felt the need to spread this healing practice to as many people as possible and started to teach. This began when friends and family asked 'to show them what this yoga thing was about’.
Training with a number of senior teachers has given me an insight into different styles of teaching Ashtanga yoga. I have tried many different methods of yoga and I find Ashtanga to be the one that works for me putting the biggest smile on people’s faces when they finish my classes.
I am continuing my own journey with daily practice and regular visits to Hamish Hendry (The only Certified Ashtanga Yoga teacher in the UK teaching traditionally) I am forever grateful to him for his commitment, patience & inspiration.
I am very keen to encourage all levels of students to develop safe technique and as such teach many options to suit the beginner to the more advanced. I offer a relaxed open honest approach to teaching and use simple language and gentle encouragement to help people focus on their yoga journey.
I very much look forward to welcoming you to one of my classes soon
